Chat with your notes

Chat lets you ask questions across everything you have recorded, instead of scrolling to find it yourself.

Asking

Start a chat from the chats screen, from the input on the home screen, or from inside a note. Then ask normally:

• "What did I say about the roof quote?"
• "Pull every action item from last week's notes."
• "Summarise what I recorded about the Helsinki trip."

Flint searches and reads your notes to answer. You do not attach anything, and you do not have to remember which note it was in.

What chat can do besides read

Chat can also reach the rest of your phone, when you ask it to:

• Calendar: check what is on, or create an event
• Reminders: turn what you said into follow-ups
• Contacts: find the person you mentioned
• Email and SMS: draft a message and open it, ready for you to send
• Web: look something up

Results come back as cards you can tap. Nothing is sent on your behalf. A drafted message opens in the relevant app for you to confirm.

Chat history

Chats are saved. Pin the ones you keep returning to and they appear at the top of the home screen. Set Chat History or Last Chat as your Quick Action to get back into a conversation in one tap.

The morning digest

If you allowed notifications, Flint sends a digest at 9am the morning after you record. Tapping it opens a chat summarising yesterday's notes, a low-effort way to review what you captured while it still matters.

To turn it off, disable notifications for Flint in your phone's settings.

Data connectors

If you run your own MCP server, connect it under Settings → Data Connectors and its tools become available to chat alongside the built-in ones.

If you do not know what MCP is, you do not need this.

What chat costs

Chat runs on cloud AI, so it draws on your credits, or goes through your own API key if you are on Pro with one configured. See Where your audio goes.
