Formats
Note, Todo, Keypoints, Meeting - and writing your own format instructions.
A format decides how your rambling becomes writing. The same recording can come out as flowing prose, a checklist, or speaker-labelled meeting notes.
The built-in formats

Opening the format picker
- Home screen: swipe left on the record button. A "Format" label appears as a hint.
- Note screen: tap the "T" button in the bottom toolbar.
What the picker does

Changing a note's format rewrites it from the same transcript. Nothing is lost and nothing is re-recorded, so you can switch back and forth as often as you like.
Writing your own format
Tap New Format, give it a name and an instruction describing how the note should be written. For example:
Name: Grocery Instruction: Turn this into a checklist, grouped by supermarket aisle, shortest items first.
Custom formats work immediately and appear under Custom Formats in the picker. They are as specific as you want: a format for standups, a format for recipe notes, a format that always writes in the second person.
Multiple speakers
When creating or editing a format, you can turn on Multiple speakers. Transcription will then try to work out who said what. It is on by default for the Meeting format.
Editing a built-in format
Swipe left on a built-in format and tap the eye icon to see the instruction Flint uses for it. You can rewrite that instruction, and your version is used from then on (for you only, on that one format).
There is a Reset to default option if you want the original behaviour back.
Changing one note instead
If you only want to change a single note, you do not need a new format. Open the note and use Tweak to give a one-off instruction. See Working with a note.
