Plans and credits

One-time purchases, what each includes, and how credits work.

How credits work

Credits are minutes of cloud transcription. They are spent only when you use Flint's cloud. On-device transcription never touches them, and neither does your own API key.

Credits Packs stack, and they do not expire. You can buy one while on Pro, for the times you would rather not put usage through your own key.

The trial

New installs get a 3-day trial with starter credits, so you can hear what cloud transcription sounds like before deciding anything. The app shows how many days are left.

Which one to pick

  • Just trying it out: do nothing. Use on-device mode when the starter credits run out.
  • Occasional cloud use: a Credits Pack.
  • Regular use, and you want notes from URLs: Essentials.
  • Heavy use, own provider accounts, want everything: Pro.

Restoring a purchase

Changed phone, or reinstalled? Open the upgrade screen from Settings and tap Restore Purchase. Purchases are tied to your App Store or Google Play account, so they come back even though Flint has no user account.

Credits work differently. Because there is no sign-in, your balance is tied to the anonymous ID your phone was given on first launch, not to your store account. On iPhone that ID survives reinstalling the app. If you are moving to a new phone with a large unspent balance, get in touch before you wipe the old one.
